Lotus Notes 8.0.2 group error - No names found to send mail to

FYI, I ran into a similar problem. Same error message, "No names found to send mail to". (I hate hanging prepositions.) In my case, this new error message was generated when a user tried to send mail to a group which had another group nested within it. Unfortunately the nested group was spelled incorrectly, and therefore did not exist.
